AEW is set to present another special edition of its flagship, Dynamite, on September 25 from the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, Grand Slam. The September 11 edition of AEW Dynamite saw multiple matches being added to the line-up building further excitement for the show.
As of now, the AEW Grand Slam event will feature AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson competing against his long-time rival, Nigel McGuinness. On the other hand, Darby Allin and Jon Moxley will compete in a singles bout with Allin’s guaranteed World title shot on the line and Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher will battle The Young Bucks for the AEW World tag team titles following their victory in the Casino Gauntlet match.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is a possibility for the addition of a huge title match for the AEW Grand Slam. The report stated that HOOK could be slated to defend his FTW championship against Roderick Strong following his backstage promo segment seen on AEW Dynamite this week with the rivalry brewing for some weeks now.
“I suspect Hook vs. Roderick Strong ends up on that show for the FTW title since they’ve been building that and they like to feature Hook on the New York shows.”
While HOOK’s title defence against Roderick Strong being added to the card is yet to be seen, the line-up announced so far promises a stellar show for AEW at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
