WWE SmackDown is set for a major transformation as it moves to the USA Network on September 13, 2024, and one of the most exciting changes is the debut of a new theme song. For the past three years, SmackDown has been introduced by “Nobody Better Than Me” by def rebel featuring Supreme Madness, but that’s about to change.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, SmackDown’s new theme song, titled “Neva Play,” will be performed by Megan Thee Stallion and RM of BTS. This marks a shift away from WWE’s tradition of using in-house music teams like def rebel and CFO$. Instead.

It was previously reported that WWE was looking for a mainstream artist this time around. The company is embracing collaborations with mainstream artists, following recent partnerships with Electric Callboy and BabyMetal, who provided music for Bash in Berlin.

The decision to bring in high-profile artists reflects WWE’s strategy to refresh SmackDown’s image as it embarks on this new chapter on USA Network. The move away from familiar in-house production could bring a fresh and modern sound to the blue brand, one that resonates with a broader audience.

Historically, SmackDown has a rich legacy of theme songs, from Jim Johnston’s “Everybody On The Ground” in 1999 to AC/DC’s “Are You Ready” between 2019 and 2022. Memorable tracks like Marilyn Manson’s “The Beautiful People” and Green Day’s “Know Your Enemy” have helped define SmackDown’s identity over the years.

The introduction of “Neva Play” represents a significant change, but whether it will achieve the same iconic status as its predecessors remains to be seen. Fans are eagerly anticipating how the new theme song will fit into the show’s legacy as it continues to evolve.

With WWE SmackDown’s move to USA Network, this new theme song will help usher in a fresh era for the show.
