Moose has been a big name in TNA Wrestling since joining the company in 2016. While he has achieved considerable success in Impact, he acknowledges WWE’s significant role in the wrestling industry. Moose has now shared his plans regarding his retirement.

Moose signed a new contract with TNA Wrestling earlier last year – a decision he is certainly happy about as the company is currently undergoing numerous changes thanks to its relationship with WWE.

While speaking during an interview on the Battleground podcast with TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth, Moose talked about his commitment to TNA Wrestling. He expressed his goal of making his name synonymous with TNA by the time he retires. Moose mentioned that he wants his legacy to be as closely linked to TNA as AJ Styles’ name is now.

Moose revealed that he plans to retire when his current contract with TNA expires in five years. He aims for his name to be the first associated with TNA when people think of the company. Moose also indicated that he doesn’t want to continue wrestling into his 50s or 60s, preferring instead to retire and enjoy the fruits of his career in wrestling and football.

“One of the reasons I’ve always stayed and never left to go elsewhere is because when I’m done and hang the boots up, I want my name to be synonymous to TNA,” he said. “Right now, when you say those three letters, the name that everybody thinks of first is AJ Styles.

Five years from now, once I hang the boots up, because that’s when I’m planning on hanging the boots up is once my current deal is up, I want my name to be the first name that people think about when they hear TNA. That’s the plan. I’m not one of those guys that wants to keep wrestling until he’s 50 or 60, I want to hang those boots up and ride into the sunset and enjoy some of this money I made with pro wrestling and pro football.”

Moose also stated that TNA’s relationship with WWE is far superior to that they had with AEW. Nevertheless, Moose is more than happy to remain with TNA Wrestling and fans will be sad when he retires, so we’ll have to see if he will retire in the best way possible when the time comes.
