AEW has certainly changed in numerous ways over the past five years and it appears the company will be promoting a lucha libre match ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars home opener.

Tony Khan is blending his two key roles, with AEW and the NFL, for a special event this Sunday. Ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ home opener, a two-out-of-three falls lucha libre tag team match will be held at Flex Field, the Jaguars’ indoor practice facility. The match is part of the Khan family complex, which includes Daily’s Place and EverBank Stadium, where the Jaguars play.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the match will feature Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion Sammy Guevara teaming with Hologram to face The Beast Mortos and Matt Taven. It is not yet clear if AEW will release footage of the match on their YouTube and social media platforms.

The event is scheduled to run from 11:30 AM to noon Eastern, just ahead of the Jaguars’ 1 PM game kickoff. Tony Khan, who has been with the franchise for 13 years and is currently the chief football strategy officer, continues to link his passions for wrestling and football in unique ways.
