After his unexpected exit from TNA, many fans worried that former President Scott D’Amore might leave the wrestling world altogether. However, D’Amore has been busy building a new venture—Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.
During a recent appearance on “Talk is Jericho”, Scott discussed the steps he’s taking to establish his brand-new promotion. D’Amore shared that he has been involved in booking numerous wrestling shows across Canada over the last few years, but now, Maple Leaf Pro is his way of making it official. His new promotion plans to kick off with a two-night event in Windsor, Ontario, promising a rowdy crowd and an impressive lineup of talent.
“I think, you know, the card we’ve put together, you know, at least the line up – I should say of talent, is unbelievable.”
Scott D’Amore expressed excitement over the stacked card, which includes stars like Josh Alexander, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and Konosuke Takeshita, who will be facing Alexander. On the women’s side, he has secured Athena, whom D’Amore regards as one of the top women’s wrestlers in the industry.
“We’re trying to look around and assemble an amazing group of people who can just celebrate wrestling.”
Furthermore, Scott D’Amore is also focusing on assembling a top-notch commentary team, bringing in renowned voices Mauro Ranallo and Don Callis, both of whom he had long dreamed of working with. Their commentary, he believes, will provide the perfect soundtrack to what promises to be an exciting new era in professional wrestling.
“To be able to do that? I just think you’ve got the greatest soundtrack to what I think is going to be some kick-ass wrestling.”
With these steps, Scott D’Amore is poised to create a fresh wrestling promotion that aims to celebrate the sport with an incredible roster and captivating storytelling.
