Drew McIntyre and CM Punk are in the midst of a heated rivalry, and it doesn’t seem like anything will calm down between the two. McIntyre has frequently taken shots at the Second City Saint, but surprisingly, he chose to let one opportunity slip by while promoting his recent movie, The Killing Game.
During his recent Reddit AMA on Squared Circle, McIntyre was asked an intriguing question by a fan, one that carried a deeper context. The fan inquired if he had any thoughts on “real glass,” a question loaded with history in the wrestling world.
Although McIntyre has been quick to criticize CM Punk at nearly every opportunity, this time, The Scottish Warrior chose to avoid engaging. Instead, he shifted the focus back to the movie he was promoting.
“I don’t want to answer questions about that. Let’s focus on Rampart: The Killer’s Game people.”
At All In 2023, Jack Perry slammed Hook onto a car windshield, looked into the camera, and said, “Real glass, cry me a river,” referencing an incident where Punk advised Perry against using real glass for a stunt. The situation eventually escalated into the infamous backstage “Brawl In” between Punk and Perry.
McIntyre did answer other questions during that AMA. For instance, he gave his personal picks on who he would choose if he was building a new Evolution stable.
Drew McIntyre is set to take on CM Punk at Bad Blood in Atlanta on October 7, in a Hell in a Cell match. Whether they’ll incorporate real glass into the fight remains to be seen, but McIntyre notably avoided dragging Punk further during his AMA.
