WWE has let a few notable names go over the last year, and a few contracts also ran out. That left Bobby Lashley as a free agent, and recent stories about AEW interest has made his name a hot commodity.

During WrestleMania XL, Bobby Lashley teamed up with the Street Profits to defeat The Final Testament in a Philadelphia Street Fight, with Bubba Ray Dudley as the special guest referee, concluding their feud. That would be the All Mighty’s final WrestleMania appearance under that contract. Lashley’s final WWE appearance took place on the May 3 WWE SmackDown in a backstage segment with Carmelo Hayes. His last match occurred on May 5 at a house show, where he defeated Santos Escobar. On August 16, 2024, Lashley’s contract expired, and he was moved to WWE’s alumni section, officially marking the end of his second run with the company.

Bobby Lashley logged onto Instagram, where he dropped a graphic that had plenty of moments from his pro wrestling career. He also included a caption that made a very clear statement.

“The journey is far from over…”

AEW could have a place for Bobby Lashley, and it’s anyone’s guess what they will do. Tony Khan might just bring in every member of the Hurt Business who is currently a free agent, which could see everyone except for Cedric Alexander join the land of All Elite.

MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin could certainly shake up AEW. Then again, the booking they go with will do a lot to determine that direction and their success during the second run of their stable under a new incarnation.

We will keep a close eye on this story for more updates. You never know where Bobby Lashley will pop up next, but he’s not done by a long shot. Wherever he goes next will certainly have to pay him well, and it will bring a ton of attention.

What’s your take on Bobby Lashley’s career in WWE? Do you think that he will make a return, or do you believe he will appear in AEW first? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
