Ricochet shocked WWE fans when he decided not to re-sign with the company. They wrote him out of the storyline thanks to a backstage attack from Bron Breakker, and The One And Only made his debut at AEW All Out. Now, we are seeing him on a weekly basis, mixing it up with the AEW roster. He was on hand for the September 11 AEW Dynamite, and it was quite a sight.

This week, fans were treated to a dream match as Ricochet faced off against Sammy Guevara, one-half of the ROH Tag Team Champions. Guevara, a former three-time TNT Champion, is no stranger to the spotlight, while Ricochet is eager to prove himself in AEW. With his sights set on Will Ospreay and the International Title, only time will tell how his AEW journey unfolds after Ospreay retained his title against Pac at All Out.

This was the first-ever showdown between Ricochet and Sammy Guevara in a wrestling ring, and it was a highly anticipated encounter for many. For Ricochet, who has family in Kentucky, this match carried extra significance, giving him all the more reason to deliver a standout performance. The action kicked off at a blistering pace, with both competitors trading moves until Ricochet nailed a dive on Guevara, landing on his feet outside the ring. Their brawl continued up the entrance ramp, where Guevara delivered a moonsault from the set just before a commercial break.

When the broadcast returned, the Lexington crowd was at a fever pitch, fully engaged in the high-flying action. Guevara had a counter for nearly everything Ricochet threw at him, and the fight spilled outside once again. Fans erupted into “Flip Forever” chants as Guevara nailed a dive on Ricochet, but the AEW newcomer responded with a double jump senton off two barricades at ringside. Back in the ring, Ricochet hit a shooting star press for a close two-count, as “This is Awesome” chants echoed through the arena.

The match reached its climax as Sammy Guevara countered a fireman’s carry into a top-rope cutter for a near fall. After a missed shooting star press and a knee strike from Guevara, Ricochet capitalized, delivering a series of dangerous kicks before finishing Guevara with a Vertigo for the hard-fought victory. However, Ricochet’s celebration was cut short when Mortos interrupted with a spear, only for Guevara to chase him off with a chair.

Ricochet’s AEW journey is just beginning, and with years ahead of him in Tony Khan’s company, it will be exciting to see how far he can go.
