Josh Alexander enjoyed significant success with TNA, playing a key role in restoring the promotion’s reputation for top-tier wrestling during his impressive 335-day title run. However, it seems he is now considering leaving TNA Wrestling.

Josh Alexander will be staying with TNA for at least one year. The wrestling company decided to exercise their option to extend the former world champion’s contract to continue their success story.

Alexander has been a key part of TNA since 2018, earning several championships during his time with the company. While speaking in a recent interview with Mekz of WrestleManiac UK, he spoke about the upcoming expiration of his contract and his thoughts on the future.

As his contract approaches expiration, Alexander is contemplating his future. Despite his accomplishments with TNA, he has never explored free agency or evaluated offers from other companies. Having signed his first contract with TNA nearly six years ago and re-signed three years ago, he feels it may be time to see what opportunities might be available elsewhere. Alexander has always followed his passion in wrestling, and after nearly 19 years and over 1,500 matches, he remains excited about the sport. Now, he’s considering whether new opportunities might be the next step in his career.

I can’t say I want to leave TNA. It’s just, I have never hit free agency. I have never been the belle of the ball. I’ve never seen what offers are out there from other companies. I signed my first contract with iMPACT Wrestling nearly six years ago. I re-signed three years ago. Now, that one is coming up. I think I’d be doing myself and my family a disservice by not seeing what’s out there. If there is something out there that gets me really excited, it’s all about what makes me happy at the end of the day. Everything in my wrestling career for these 19 years have been following my heart. There are many times when I was let down, or I broke my neck, or all this other stuff happened that would deter somebody from following their dream. For me, this makes me happy. I want to do it. I get excited doing it still after 19 years and 1500-plus matches. I’m going to keep following my heart with it and we’ll see where that leads.”

We will have to wait and see whether Josh Alexander will end up leaving TNA and pursue other companies once his contract expires, as Alexander has made it clear he is open to exploring different options now.
