AJ Lee Admits She is Out of the Loop on CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s Feud

AJ Lee has recently been referenced on WWE television, particularly in a storyline involving Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. McIntyre has used Lee’s name as a point of contention with Punk, even breaking a bracelet that featured the names of AJ Lee, Punk’s wife, and Larry, Punk’s dog.

While speaking during a recent interview with Haley Miller of ComicBook, AJ Lee shared her thoughts on the ongoing storyline. She admitted that she is somewhat detached from the details, as she avoids watching her husband’s matches live due to nervousness.

Lee compared her approach to staying informed about wrestling to checking work emails after hours, emphasizing her preference for focusing on women’s wrestling and specific wrestlers like Bayley and Naomi.

AJ also mentioned that she is aware of the unexpected fame her dog has gained, including some upcoming merchandise, and expressed pride in her husband’s success and well-being.

“I mean this in the most loving way, I have no idea what’s going on [laughs]. I’m weird about like — I don’t want to watch my husband wrestle live because I’m scared. It’s like a weird juju thing,” AJ said. “But also, it’s kind of like when you go home from work, do you open up your email? It’s kind of like that. It feels like that if people can understand. So, I’m sort of on the periphery, and I get kind of looped in mostly for women’s stuff, because that’s what I’m interested in.

So my husband will let me know who’s the cool chick at the moment. And I’m so obsessed with people. Like Bayley and Naomi? Those are my girls. So that’s what’s interesting to me. I kind of don’t know what’s happening in the storyline. I know that my dog is famous all of a sudden! He’s got some surprise merch coming. I’ve been privy to that. But it’s cool. I’m happy that he’s happy and healthy and just killing it. I’m proud.”

Drew McIntyre and CM Punk are scheduled to face off in a Hell in a Cell match at the WWE Bad Blood Premium Live Event next month. With the escalating tension between the two, especially following McIntyre’s recent remarks, their feud is expected to intensify.
