Tony Khan has built a strong relationship between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery, ensuring that AEW’s content aligns with the network’s standards. This partnership has led to lots of speculation about their partnership and now it appears Warner Bros. Discovery’s part in their deal has been finalized.
Warner Bros. Discovery has played an important role in airing AEW’s popular shows like Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision. This partnership has been so successful that AEW decided to cancel AEW Dark on YouTube, focusing their shows only on Warner Bros. Discovery’s platforms. Obviously, the current negotiations have only brought forth lots of rumors about the significance of the deal.
We had already reported that the media rights deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery is estimated to be considerably more than $110 million per year, a massive upgrade from the one AEW signed with Warner Bros. Discovery years ago.
While speaking on Beyond the Bell, Andrew Zarian reported that AEW’s deal with Warner Bros. Discovery has entered a new stage. He mentioned that AEW’s exclusivity with the network has ended, meaning the way AEW’s content is shared might change.
Zarian also stated that, from Warner Bros. Discovery’s side, the deal is already finished and likely signed. There is no doubt that the agreement is finalized, marking an important milestone in AEW’s partnership with the media company.
Zarian is almost certain that AEW’s shows and pay-per-view events will soon be available on the streaming service, MAX. Zarian is 99.9% sure this will happen, giving AEW fans a new way to watch their favorite content.
“The AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery Network exclusivity is over. There is no longer exclusivity for one network. From Warner Bros. Discovery’s side, the deal is finished. There’s no question that the deal is completed, I would say signed. I feel 99.9% confident that AEW content will be on MAX. Pay-per-views will go on MAX.”
