WWE still has Omos on their payroll, but we have no idea how he will be used in the future. The special attraction for WWE is still waiting in the wings, but he is certainly ready to do whatever WWE asks of him in the meantime.

In April 2022, WWE made the decision to pair Omos with MVP, following the latter’s split from Bobby Lashley. MVP had previously played a key role in guiding Lashley to the WWE Championship as a member of the Hurt Business, and Vince McMahon was looking for similar success when he paired MVP with Omos, a tandem that Omos has admitted that he misses.

Omos had a significant match at WrestleMania 39 against Brock Lesnar, but following April 2023, his appearances on WWE television became sporadic. Despite his limited airtime, Omos continued to perform at live events, honing his skills and improving his craft under MVP’s guidance.

During a K&S WrestleFest virtual signing, MVP went off a bit about Omos, and how WWE has misused him. He brought up Triple H’s thought process about Omos, but also chastised the company for not making money on someone like the Nigerian Giant.

“When Vince called me and Bobby in the office, he said, ‘Hey guys, I want to split you guys up. Bobby, I want you to be a standalone star now. MVP, I want to put you with Omos. I want you to do for Omos what you did for Bobby.’ Those were Vince’s words. ‘Okay.’ I’m not happy about this, but I look forward to the task. Omos has such a huge heart. Literally and figuratively. He really wants to learn, wants to get better. He was an open book. Coachable. We weren’t on TV a lot, but we were on all the live events. I got to watch him week in and week out improve and get better.”

MVP also revealed that he spoke to Triple H about how Omos was being utilized in WWE. According to MVP, Triple H was very clear in his intentions for Omos’ role within the company.

“I talked to Triple H about how he was being used, and Triple H was adamant that he didn’t want him to be another Big Show. He didn’t want him on TV every week. He wanted him to be an attraction and wanted to break him out periodically.”

As for Omos’ future in WWE, MVP expressed uncertainty about the company’s plans for him but remained confident in the potential Omos possesses as a rare talent.

“I don’t know what his status is now. I don’t know what they plan on doing with him, but if you can’t take a legitimate 7-foot 3-inch, 385 pounds….if you can’t make money with a 7-foot 3-inch, 385-pound former basketball player that can move. You don’t see him move a lot because they don’t want him to. When he wants to move, you’d be surprised how well that big man can move. If you can’t make money with that then you’re just an idiot.”

Omos hasn’t competed in a match since his appearance in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which took place on the SmackDown before WrestleMania XL. As fans eagerly await his return to the ring, questions remain about how WWE will utilize the towering athlete moving forward.

WWE has featured many special attractions over the years, and that is certainly the role that Omos finds himself in. That being said, he is still absent from WWE television, leaving many to wonder when they will see him again. Since MVP is no longer with the company, Omos certainly won’t have him by his side whenever he reemerges.
