Tony Khan has successfully developed a solid relationship between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery. By aligning AEW’s content with Warner Bros. Discovery’s standards, Khan has paved the way for the upcoming announcement regarding their partnership and now the timeline for AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery’s TV deal announcement has been revealed.

Warner Bros. Discovery has been a key broadcaster for AEW, airing popular shows like Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision. This successful partnership has been so influential that it resulted in the cancellation of AEW Dark on YouTube, streamlining AEW’s presence exclusively on Warner Bros. Discovery’s platforms.

It was recently reported that the media rights deal between AEW and Warner Bros Discovery is estimated to be considerably more than $110 million per year, which is a huge deal.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez that the announcement of AEW’s new media rights deal is expected soon, likely within the next week. He also mentioned that AEW is likely to receive an additional show titled AEW: Shockwave.

“That TV deal is going to be announced any moment. I think within the next week or so, we’re going to hear about it… I’m pretty sure they’re getting another show, there’s going to be AEW: Shockwave.”

We have already reported that FOX is eyeing AEW programming as AEW’s deal with Warner Bros. Discovery nears completion, as AEW: Shockwave could definitely be part of a deal with FOX. As negotiations for a new agreement continue, it remains to be seen whether AEW’s future will be bright, as Tony Khan certainly believes that to be the case.
