WWE fans who have been hoping for a return to the two-hour format for Monday Night Raw will get their wish starting October 7—but don’t get too comfortable. The change, while exciting for many, is only temporary.
With WWE Raw set to move from USA Network to Netflix in January 2025, WWE has made a short-term deal to keep the show on USA until the move. Originally, WWE’s contract with USA was set to expire this month, but the two sides reached an agreement to extend it through December 30, leading to the temporary two-hour format change.
According to Dave Meltzer, the decision to cut Raw down to two hours was made by USA Network, not WWE. But when Raw moves to Netflix in January, fans can expect it to return to a three-hour format—although there’s still some uncertainty.
PWInsider reports that while a three-hour show is likely, WWE hasn’t confirmed how long the episodes will be once the Netflix deal kicks in. Some insiders have hinted that WWE might have the flexibility to adjust the length of each episode based on what’s needed week to week when they move to streaming.
For now, WWE Raw will continue its two-hour run until its USA Network finale on December 30, before moving to Netflix on January 5, 2025.
What do you think about Raw returning to two hours temporarily? Would you prefer it to stay that way, or are you okay with the return to three hours on Netflix? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
