Natalya, an integral part of WWE’s women’s division since her debut in 2008, recently renewed her contract with the company and fans wondered when she would return to television. She finally came back on RAW this week and has now broken her silence in that regard.
During the September 9 episode of Monday Night RAW, Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler faced Zelina Vega and Lyra Valkyria in a match where the babyfaces were short one partner, leaving fans in suspense over who would join them. The mystery was soon solved when the perfect Canadian choice appeared.
As Sonya Deville taunted Lyra for being without a partner to face the Pure Fusion Collective, their smugness quickly faded when Natalya’s music hit. The Alberta crowd erupted with cheers as the hometown hero made her return to WWE. Natalya wasted no time jumping into the action when the bell rang. Her return was impactful, as she helped her team secure the victory.
While speaking during RAW Talk, Natalya shared her thoughts on returning to WWE in Calgary, calling it a surreal experience. She talked about how her family has many memories in that building and how the last time they were all there together was for the 1997 In Your House pay-per-view.
That event was also the first time she stepped into a WWE ring. Coming back to Calgary, which she calls “Hart country,” felt really special to her. She thanked the Calgary fans for making her feel so welcome and said she would cherish every moment because opportunities like this only happen once in a lifetime.
”Tonight was surreal, this building where my family made so many memories. The last time we were all here together was in the 1997 In Your House pay-per-view, in 1997 in this building it was my very first time in a WWE ring. So, to be able to come back to Calgary, which we call Hart country, it was so special and I’ll never ever be able to thank the Calgary fans enough to make me feel so welcome at home. I’m gonna soak up every ounce of this because moments of this come once in a lifetime.”
We will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book Natalya on television in the coming weeks now that she has finally returned after so long, as fans definitely want her to succeed this time around.
