Michael Cole has dedicated a majority of his life to WWE and calling the action in the ring. He is the voice of the company, and may have given him flowers. Now he is receiving another dozen proverbial roses from an NFL great.

NFL star Aaron Rodgers recently showed some love for WWE announcer Michael Cole, calling him a “legend” during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. The conversation veered from football to wrestling when McAfee mentioned a recent chat he had with Cole, who is a well-known New York Jets fan, about the team’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Aaron Rodgers, who was a guest on the show, didn’t miss a beat in giving Cole his due respect, simply replying, “Legend. Legend.” The moment was shared on social media, with McAfee posting the clip and adding Rodgers’ comment: “Michae lCole is a LEGEND.. We love how passionate the Jets fans are and we’re gonna hit our stride.”

Rodgers’ admiration for Cole echoes the WWE announcer’s wide-reaching influence, extending beyond wrestling and into the sports world. Michael Cole, who has been a staple in WWE since 1997, is not only a fan favorite but also respected by figures outside the wrestling industry.

Cole’s influence will continue to grow, especially with WWE’s monumental move from cable to Netflix in January as part of a historic 10-year, $5 billion deal. Cole will take on play-by-play duties for Raw on Netflix, further solidifying his position as the voice of WWE.

Having recently signed a new contract with WWE, Cole is set to remain the company’s primary announcer for the “foreseeable future,” ensuring his legendary status is well intact across the sports entertainment landscape. Obviously, Aaron Rodgers isn’t the only person who believes that Michael Cole is in legendary air.
