WWE is quickly gearing up for its next Premium Live Event, WWE Bad Blood, which will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. However, it appears that a major title match will not be featured on the show.
During the September 9 edition of RAW, Jey Uso earned the title of number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship by winning a four-way match against Braun Strowman, Ilja Dragunov, and Pete Dunne. This match served as the final of a tournament that has been unfolding on Raw over the past few weeks.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the match between Breakker and Uso will not take place at Bad Blood. This is partly due to WWE’s policy of having only five matches on their B-level pay-per-views.
For Bad Blood, three matches have already been confirmed: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre in Hell in a Cell, Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Title, and Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor. Meltzer mentioned that the remaining two matches are expected to be world title bouts. He added that the Breakker vs. Uso match will instead be a TV match, with the exact week still unknown.
“By the way, that match is not on the pay-per-view. It’s gonna be a TV match. I don’t know which week…but not on the pay-per-view. You only have five match pay-per-views and we’ve got Gunther and Sami, we’ve got Cody Rhodes which will be announced on Friday whatever they do. And we’ve got Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan, and we’ve got Damian Priest & Finn Balor, and Punk & Drew.”
It is certainly unfortunate that Bron Breakker and Jey Uso’s match will not be taking place at Bad Blood, but WWE is very strict on their 5-match cards for Premium Live Events and that’s not going to change anytime soon.
