RVD remains one of the most technically gifted pro wrestlers to have ever competed inside the squared circle. He’s faced numerous top stars during his time in the business and that includes John Cena, and he has now addressed potentially facing John Cena as part of Cena’s retirement tour.
At the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, John Cena announced his retirement from professional wrestling. Cena also revealed that his final wrestling appearances will be at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 2025. Rather than a single retirement match, Cena will embark on a farewell tour throughout 2025, culminating with the end of his in-ring career in December 2025.
A fan recently suggested on Twitter that they would like to see RVD return to WWE next year for one final match against John Cena before Cena retires. RVD noticed the tweet and expressed interest in the idea, showing enthusiasm for a potential final match with his former WWE rival.
”I like it.”
John Cena also explained why he will retire from in-ring competition in 2025, so we will have to wait and see if RVD will end up returning to WWE for one last match with John Cena, as fans would love to see that happen.
