The announcement that Monday Night RAW will be moving to Netflix has generated significant buzz within the pro wrestling community, marking a major shift for WWE. During the Edmonton show, WWE confirmed that RAW will officially debut on the streaming giant on January 1, 2025.

The move comes as part of a reported $5 billion deal between WWE and Netflix that spans ten years, a figure that shocked fans around the world when it was revealed on January 23rd. Initially, it was reported that RAW’s debut on Netflix would take place on January 6, 2025, however, Ringside News obtained an ad from the September 6th episode of SmackDown in Edmonton, revealing the move will happen on January 1, 2025.

It remains unclear if this earlier debut date applies solely to Canada or if it’s a global shift, but either way, the update has sparked plenty of conversation among WWE fans.

As WWE prepares to transition to Netflix, Triple H has expressed confidence that fans will embrace the move without any significant issues. However, there’s still much speculation about how the WWE product will evolve once it’s streaming exclusively on Netflix. With the deal’s magnitude and the possibilities of what Netflix could offer in terms of content and presentation, the excitement is building for good reason.
