WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event was a popular program that originally aired on NBC, taking the place of Saturday Night Live 29 times during its run. The show later saw a revival on FOX in 2006 and 2008, bringing back the excitement for fans. In fact, it appears WWE could be bringing it back soon as well.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is expected to announce a prime-time special on NBC, potentially airing on a Saturday night in December.

As part of WWE’s new deal to bring SmackDown back to the USA Network, the agreement includes four prime-time specials per year on NBC. WWE has indicated that the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event will be announced shortly, which suggests the report is accurate and fans can anticipate the show’s comeback soon.

”Wrestlevotes reported WWE would be announcing a prime time special on NBC, perhaps on a Saturday night in December. The deal getting Smackdown on USA included four prime time specials per year on NBC. We were told by WWE that the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event will be announced very soon so that would indicate this is accurate.”

Saturday Night’s Main Event played a pivotal role in launching the Rock and Wrestling Connection, which was crucial to Vince McMahon’s successful national expansion of WWE. Given its historical significance and value within the WWE brand, it makes sense that the company is planning to bring it back.
