Triple H pays close attention to everything going on in the pro wrestling world, especially when his top stars are involved. He has now weighed in on Roman Reigns’ remarks about WWE Raw’s upcoming move to Netflix, which is set to take place in January 2025.

In January 2024, WWE made headlines with the announcement that Raw would transition to Netflix starting in January 2025. This move is expected to mark a significant shift in the show’s distribution and reach. It will also open up the company to new possibilities.

Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman were featured on the “WWE Takes Over the World” panel at Bloomberg’s Power Players convention in New York City on Thursday. During the panel, the Wiseman and the OTC discussed WWE’s monumental deal with Netflix and whether fans might see some edgier content when the show transitions to the streaming platform. Roman Reigns commented on how the Netflix deal will change things.

“The thing that changes the whole landscape for us is that we’ve been on linear television for decades now, and we’ve been the leader of that episodically. So, to take our program and to put it on a streaming network like Netflix, it’s just unheard of. To go all the way back through our history to see where we are now and the growth that we’ve had really since 2020, when the world was upside down, has just really been amazing. So it’s a big opportunity for us to not only showcase our product, but just what we’ve mastered with live television.”

Paul Heyman also contributed to the discussion, reflecting on WWE’s recent success. He noted the company’s profits doubling since 2019, which was a pivotal year for the company as they saw an unexpected pandemic on the horizon, but they overcame it.

“If you read this morning on Wall Street, WWE’s net profits have doubled since 2019. If you ask me why. I’ll give you three answers. One, the business leadership of our President, Nick Khan. Two, the creative leadership of our Chief Content Officer, Paul Levesque….and number three, the fact that we are blessed to have the single biggest box office attraction in sports entertainment history. History, and that can be documented by the fact that our top star has been since 2019. This man, the tribal chief, Roman Reigns.”

In response to Reigns’ comments, Triple H took to Twitter to underscore the impact of Reigns and Paul Heyman on WWE’s success. He obviously had glowing things to say about the Wise Man and Original Tribal Chief.

“The impact that generational Superstars like @WWERomanReigns, and brilliant minds like @HeymanHustle, have had on our business is truly immeasurable. @WWE is always looking toward what’s next…and what’s next will be special.”

During the Power Players event, Roman Reigns also touched upon the potential for ‘edgier’ content once Raw makes its Netflix debut, hinting at new possibilities for the show’s future. The show will be on an uncensored platform, so that opens up possibilities.

It is also important to note that WWE talent were reminded that the company’s programming is still technically TV-PG. Only time will tell how the continued evolution of the company changes things.

What’s your take on WWE RAW landing on Netflix? Do you think that it will change the way we watch the red brand forever? How much credit does Paul Heyman deserve in your opinion? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
