There are a lot of stories going around in the pro wrestling world and sometimes fans and critics alike can make a mountain out of a molehill. A story was going around after MVP called Triple H out a bit, and now he has spoken out to clarify things.

MVP took off from WWE after his contract was over. About the same time, Bobby Lashley left as well. While the two have not linked up outside WWE just yet, their exit certainly sent shockwaves through WWE.

Before his contract with WWE came to an end, MVP addressed rumors surrounding his comments about Paul “Triple H” Levesque during a virtual signing with K&S WrestleFest. There had been speculation that MVP had accused Triple H of being racist, a claim he was quick to debunk.

“It made the rounds that ‘MVP said Triple H was racist.’ I never said that word. I never said that. You show me the quote or the caption where I said that.”

The former WWE Superstar explained that the misunderstanding stemmed from a social media exchange where someone commented on Triple H’s booking of Black talent. MVP responded with,

“Ah, you see it. I never said he is racist. I never said that. That was never anything I said. I want to make that very clear. If you’re watching, you got that sound byte here first. I’ll go more into it on my podcast.”

MVP went on to emphasize the distinction between criticizing the booking of talent of color and accusing someone of racism. He went on to mention Hulk Hogan, someone who has a history of racial connotations connected to his name.

“Now, my opinion on how he books talent of color, that’s a different conversation, but I never said the man was racist. Hulk Hogan is racist. He said it himself, ‘I’m a little bit racist.’ He said that. As far as Triple H, I don’t know that he is. I don’t know what his motivations are, but I never said he was racist.”

MVP’s comments highlighted the importance of clarifying his stance, ensuring there was no confusion about his views on Triple H, while also drawing attention to the larger conversation about representation and booking in WWE.

We will have to see what MVP does next. Triple H has not publicly commented to this story. Hopefully, MVP was able to clear things up for everyone with his words.
