WWE has seen a lot of stars leave the company for one reason or another only to make their eventual returns. The Hardy Boyz have both exited and returned to WWE before, and they’re not closing the door on that possibility.
Matt and Jeff Hardy, the legendary tag team duo, are nearing the end of their storied careers. Currently, the Hardys are back in TNA Wrestling, once again pursuing the TNA World Tag Team Championships. Although Matt Hardy has been open about their desire to eventually conclude their careers in WWE, the brothers are presently enjoying their time revitalizing TNA.
On a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy discussed their current creative trajectory in TNA, revealing that they have plans extending through the remainder of 2024. However, when asked about another potential run in WWE or a return to AEW, Matt remained open-minded, emphasizing the classic wrestling mantra “never say never.”
“We’re both very, very happy. We’re extremely happy with how TNA is going right now, and we’re going to be continuing this for a while,” Matt said. “We just actually talked about some creative stuff going through the end of this year right now. So that’s very exciting. We dig what we have.”
“As far as going to WWE or going to AEW, I mean, it’s a ‘never say never’ scenario. In my world, in the extreme life of Matt Hardy, it’s never say never. You never rule anything out. You never close any doors on anything. You just do your best, you keep your chin up, you keep moving forward, and you try and speak as honestly and as transparently as possible. So it’s one of those things, if we ended up back at AEW to do something, yeah, we wouldn’t be opposed to that, especially if it’s something that sounded really, really good, that we were very intrigued by. Then, once again, with WWE, there’s still been some ongoing conversation with WWE. So yeah, I mean, anything can happen in the extreme life of Matt Hardy.”
As the Hardys continue to make waves in TNA, fans can look forward to their upcoming match on Thursday, September 12, when they face off against Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards on TNA iMPACT!.
We will keep an eye on the Hardys antics in pro wrestling. You never know what they will be able to accomplish in whatever company they’re a part of. This is also true for a return to WWE, because it’s very possible that they may eventually return home to WWE in some form or fashion someday.
