Orange Cassidy has worked hard to establish himself as one of the most beloved stars in all of AEW and he is one of the few stars whose entrance music are major part of pop culture. In fact, Jefferson Starship initially denied letting Orange Cassidy use their music.

While speaking to Kevin Kellam of Q101, Orange Cassidy talked about his theme songs, including “Jane” by Jefferson Starship and “Where Is My Mind” by the Pixies. He said he first used “Jane” before joining AEW because he liked the movie Wet Hot American Summer. But when he got to AEW, Jefferson Starship didn’t want him to use their song.

Cassidy explained that AEW’s Tony Khan stepped in to help. Khan suggested using a different song, and Cassidy was okay with getting a custom song, but Khan insisted on finding another option. Eventually, they chose the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind.”

”When I got to AEW, Jefferson Starship’s like, ‘No. We’re not letting you use that for this guy.’ Tony Khan is who he is, he’s like, ‘We’re gonna get another one,’ and I was like, ‘I mean, you don’t have to. I can just get a custom one.’ He’s like, ‘No, no. We’re gonna –’ we were late one night… and he came up with the Pixies or maybe it was Chuck Taylor.”

This turned out to be a great choice. After a Pitchfork article mentioned Cassidy’s new entrance music, Jefferson Starship reconsidered and reached out to say they would allow the use of “Jane” after all.

Then there was an article on Pitchfork saying like, oh, ‘This new wrestler is coming out to the Pixies.’ Jefferson Starship reached back out… And they said, ‘Hey, we’ll do something.’

Cassidy headlined the main event of Dynamite on September 4. On the upcoming Collision episode on September 6, he will face Bryan Keith, with the winner earning a spot in the Continental Championship four-way match at All Out. Nonetheless, Cassidy will always have ‘Jane’ as his entrance theme whenever he wants to and that’s all that matters.
