AEW set up shop at the NOW Arena for a two-day event, and while fans turned out for Collision, they didn’t exactly stick around for Rampage afterward.
Despite featuring a match with big names like Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada after Collision, many fans were seen heading for the exits as soon as the first show ended. Footage captured large groups of fans leaving the arena after the final Collision match, right before Rampage was set to start.
It’s clear those fans knew Rampage was about to begin, but it didn’t seem to be enough to keep them in their seats. While it’s possible some were just taking a quick break to hit the merchandise stands or use the restroom, the sheer number of people leaving suggests something else was at play.
AEW will return to the NOW Arena for All Out on September 7. Time will tell how many fans will show up for the big event in Chicago, but it’s sure to be a late night for everyone attending, even with the Central time zone advantage.
