AEW has seen a ton of growth over the past few years, but it certainly hasn’t been smooth sailing for the company. With that said, Daniel Garcia believes that majority of the hate AEW gets is simply just to hate on the company.

AEW President Tony Khan, known for his wrestling passion, faced a Twitter controversy impacting his reputation earlier this year. There has been a lot of online discourse surrounding AEW as well, with many people with bad faith actively wanting AEW’s demise and claim the company is doomed.

While speaking to Good Karma Wrestling, Daniel Garcia addressed the criticism AEW receives online. He acknowledged that while valid criticisms of AEW do exist, much of the negativity seems to stem from a desire to target the challenger brand.

Garcia emphasized that AEW’s presence has been beneficial for the wrestling industry, creating job opportunities and income for many in the field. He argued that without AEW, numerous people in wrestling and media might not have the same opportunities or livelihoods. Overall, Garcia views AEW’s existence as a net positive for professional wrestling, with no negative impacts from its presence.

“Are there valid criticisms about AEW? Yeah, sure, there’s valid criticisms about everything. But I think like the majority of the negative comments, it’s just to hate on the challenger brand. And I think that’s wrong because I mean, I don’t think it’s not right, you can do whatever you want, but if AEW didn’t exist, a lot of people in wrestling would be making a lot less money, a lot of people in wrestling would not have jobs, and a lot of people who cover wrestling would not have jobs because hating on AEW feeds a lot of mouths. So, if AEW wasn’t around, a lot of people wouldn’t have food to put on the table, you know what I’m saying? So AEW being around for people is a net positive in every single way. Like there’s no negative in the world of professional wrestling that AEW being around causes, it’s only positive.”

MJF also hit back at detractors who claim that AEW is falling apart. Regardless, AEW will continue to do what they can to improve their product and Daniel Garcia wants to remain part of the company for the foreseeable future.
