Janel Grant had been pursuing records from Dr. Carlon Colker, a wellness doctor tied to her case. A judge ruled in Grant’s favor, allowing her to access the documents and Dr. Colker denied any misconduct related to his treatment of Grant. In response, Grant challenged Colker’s attempt to dismiss her request for evidence by filing a motion to strike his petition. Dr. Colker has since withdrawn his petition entirely. In light of this, Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, issued a statement criticizing Colker’s legal actions.

Janel Grant had previously submitted a petition to obtain records from Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc., alleging that in November 2019, she received undisclosed treatments, including pills and IV infusions, under Vince McMahon’s direction. When she questioned the substances, Dr. Colker allegedly challenged her trust in him.

In response, Dr. Colker filed a complaint against Grant, denying her claims and labeling them as part of a “smear campaign.” He argues that these allegations have severely damaged his reputation, estimating the financial harm at “tens of millions of dollars.” Colker seeks documentation to refute Grant’s claims and wishes to depose her.

Grant responded by filing a motion in Connecticut Superior Court to strike Colker’s complaint and dismiss his bill of discovery. She also seeks statutory sanctions, costs, and attorneys’ fees against Colker and Peak Wellness. Grant’s legal team argues that Colker’s actions are intended to intimidate her and infringe on her First Amendment rights, describing his complaint as baseless and a hindrance to her investigation into her medical treatment.

Dr. Colker’s attorneys had earlier filed a motion to dismiss Grant’s request for evidence related to her federal lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. However, Dr. Colker has now withdrawn his legal action against Grant, as indicated in a recent filing with the Connecticut Superior Court.

According to Brandon Thurston, Janel Grant’s attorney Ann Callis responded to Dr. Colker’s recent legal action, stating that his withdrawal of the motion was expected. She characterized it as a baseless and frivolous attempt to intimidate her client, similar to a previous motion from Mr. McMahon that was also dismissed.

Callis emphasized that Ms. Grant is committed to asserting her rights to obtain documents and information related to her own medical records, metadata, prescribed treatments by Dr. Colker, and any communications between the doctor and others regarding her or her medical treatment.

“Unsurprisingly, Dr. Colker has withdrawn his baseless motion. In the same vein as Mr. McMahon’s recently struck down motion, this was filed simply as yet another frivolous attempt to intimidate Ms. Grant. Ms. Grant remains steadfast in her right to seeking documents and information relating to her own medical records, meta-data, Dr. Colker’s prescribed treatments, and any communications between Dr. Colker and other parties concerning Ms. Grant or Ms. Grant’s medical treatment.”

Judge Jeffrey Meyer also ruled against McMahon’s attempt to block the petition for these records and Vince McMahon’s attorney has already released statement regarding the denial. Regardless, it remains to be seen how the lawsuit will progress as there are quite a few elements to it so it might take a considerable amount of time to reach a conclusion.
