Last month, Bryan Danielson made a major impact by defeating Swerve Strickland to win the AEW World Championship at the All In pay-per-view event. Following his victory, details about his contractual status with AEW have now been revealed.
During the August 28th edition of AEW Dynamite, it was confirmed that Jack Perry would be challenging Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship at All Out on September 7th at the NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
With Bryan Danielson becoming the AEW World Champion, many fans instantly wondered if he ended up signing a contract with the company, even if it was a short-term deal.
While speaking during the AEW All Out media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about Bryan Danielson’s status after winning the AEW World Championship. Tony Khan revealed that Bryan Danielson is currently wrestling without a formal contract. Khan made it clear that when Danielson is ready to retire, he will always have a place in AEW.
We have also revealed the decision maker for Bryan Danielson’s opponent for All Out. Therefore, we will have to wait and see how The American Dragon will fare in his first title defense, as fans certainly want to see him have a lengthy reign as the AEW World Champion before retiring.
