CM Punk and Hulk Hogan come from very different generations, and they do not see eye to eye. That being said, Hogan isn’t going to take the opportunity to shade the Second City Saint.

Although CM Punk admitted years ago that he liked Hulk Hogan even less after meeting him, The Hulkster may be ready to team up if given the chance. Hogan may also remember their meeting in a different way.

Bill Apter recently had the opportunity to catch up with WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, who shared his thoughts on CM Punk. Despite the well-known tension between the two, with CM Punk not being a fan of Hogan, The Hulkster surprised many by expressing admiration for Punk.

“I am a big fan of CM Punk. I just really pray that he stays healthy. I’ve never met him. I had an opportunity to meet him, but I guess I missed the boat on that one. When I came back for one of the RAWs, I was kind of out of my mind flying back from L.A. with Rob Van Dam, if you get what I’m saying. I basically spent my whole night just trying to get my act together before I went to the camera.”

CM Punk was apparently there, and that was the only time I really had a chance to meet him. I happened to walk into a dressing room to go say hello to somebody, and he was there, but he was in a heavy meeting with whoever they were doing the program with that night, and I didn’t want to interrupt them.”

Hulk Hogan continued to praise CM Punk’s in-ring persona, emphasizing his authenticity and strong presence. Punk is in the middle of an impressive new run in WWE. After a long injury hiatus from in-ring competition, CM Punk is performing at the top of his game.

“First off, he’s very believable. He’s very, very believable in the ring. He seems real. He’s kind of got that outlaw mentality, but the cool part about it is he speaks the truth. He really just rolls it out there straight. He’s very opinionated. A lot of people agree with his opinion. It’s kind of like the stuff that a lot of people are afraid to say, he’ll say it. So it’s almost like he’s a truth-teller. He really, really has it figured out, which is cool. That’s why I really would love to see him stay healthy and not have any more accidents happen because I’d like to see this CM Punk run last for years.”

While Hulk Hogan is expressing his support for CM Punk, he’s also been keeping busy with a different kind of promotion, and that’s United States politics. Hogan has been hitting the media circuit more frequently lately as part of his involvement in Donald Trump’s 2024 U.S. Presidential campaign. His appearances have included speaking at the Republican National Convention and leading an anti-Kamala Harris promo at a smaller, more intimate rally.

Only time will tell where Hogan’s political journey leads, but a collaboration between him and CM Punk seems unlikely. Despite Hogan’s admiration, the two wrestling icons appear to be on very different paths.
