Finn Balor and JD McDonagh have been the WWE Tag Team Champions for over two months now and they are proud of their accomplishment. With that said, Balor has now addressed fan backlash over their lack of title defenses.
Despite being WWE Tag Team Champions for over two months, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh have yet to defend their titles on television. During this time, they’ve been active in the ring, with their most recent match ending in a loss to Damian Priest and Jey Uso on the September 2 edition of Monday Night RAW.
Finn Balor recently took to social media to comment on the situation. He posted a picture of himself and McDonagh with the championship belts, highlighting that they’ve held the titles for 72 days. Balor emphasized that they’ve been “working smart, not hard.”
”Work Smarter Not Harder #72Days Champions @jd_mcdonagh @WWE @WWENXT”
JD McDonagh chimed in, teasing fans by saying that they’re doing a fantastic job, despite not putting their titles on the line.
”Has it been that long?! We’re killing it!”
In the meantime, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh are set to compete at a non-WWE event in October as well. Nevertheless, we’ll have to wait and see when they will finally defend their tag team titles, as many fans feel the titles have become an afterthought.
