The September 2 edition of WWE NXT witnessed the fallout from their latest Premium Live Event, No Mercy, with some enthralling moments and matches. This set the tone for the festivities to take place next week as part of USA Network Week, which is the home for all three WWE shows.
The show opened with a triple-threat tag team match for a shot at the NXT tag team championships against the new champions, Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Following an intense showdown, it was TNA’s The Rascalz that emerged on top and is now set to challenge for the titles next week on NXT.
Elsewhere, TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace, in a video on her X, announced that she would be hosting the first-ever open challenge for her title in NXT, which General Manager Ava has made official for next week. On the other hand, Je’Von Evans worked his way into an NXT Heritage Cup Championship match against Charlie Dempsey following a conversation with Wren Sinclair.
Moreover, after Ridge Holland betrayed Chase U and launched a heinous assault on Andre Chase at No Mercy, his cohort, Duke Hudson, will step up to him in a one-on-one match next week on NXT.
Furthermore, tensions have been evident between Trick Williams and Pete Dunne for weeks. They became unhinged on this week’s show with multiple backstage fights, and their scheduled match ended without a decisive winner. Next week, both men will compete in a Last Man Standing match, with the winner moving on to face Ethan Page for the NXT title.
