Kairi Sane returned to WWE last year and has been in a prominent position as a member of Damage CTRL. Unfortunately, she suffered a nasty injury during RAW this week and required stitches after the same.

In a #1 contender’s match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship during the September 2nd WWE RAW, The Pirate Princess teamed up with IYO SKY to face Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre. The reigning champions, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, were present at ringside during the match.

Kairi Sane attempted a high-flying dive off the top rope aimed at The EST, who was at ringside, but misjudged the leap and ended up hitting the edge of the announce table with her face. To make matters worse, the Unholy Union would end up winning the match instead.

Following the conclusion of Monday Night RAW, Kairi Sane took to her Instagram story and uploaded a photo of herself, revealing that she required stitches on her left eyelid after the brutal injury. She also joked about needing an eyepatch after the injury.

”I need an eyepatch, haha.”

It is unfortunate that Kairi Sane suffered such an injury but accidents happen in professional wrestling and Sane knows that all too well. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for Sane and SKY, now that they are no longer in contention for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
