WWE Vault Releases Unseen Motion Capture Footage From 1996 In Your House Video Game

The WWE vault is a treasure trove of unseen footage, and sometimes they release something special that gives fans a peek behind the curtain. Recently, WWE released footage from the motion capture sessions for the 1996 video game WWF In Your House.

This footage, which took 28 years to see the light of day, showcases the hard work that went into creating this sequel to WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game. The game featured 10 playable wrestlers, including The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, and others, and it was released on platforms such as PlayStation 1, Super Nintendo, and MS DOS. Commentary for the game was provided by Vince McMahon and Curt Hennig, better known as Mr. Perfect during that time in his Hall of Fame career. We don’t have any footage of those voiceover recording sessions, but we do have motion capture footage to see now.

Fans were particularly fascinated by the behind-the-scenes footage, which revealed how the wrestlers were placed on small treadmills to capture their slow walking cycles. This glimpse into the process gave fans a new perspective on the game, which is now regarded as a classic.

Seeing Superstars like Ultimate Warrior, Ahmed Johnson and The British Bulldog in these sessions is a reminder of the intricate details that went into the game’s development. They also showed off Superstars doing other moves, such as standing in a groggy fashion, which Triple H pulled off in masterful fashion.

Thanks to this recent release from the WWE Vault YouTube channel, fans can relive their favorite video game moments while appreciating the time and effort that went into bringing the game to life. This was certainly a surprise to see pop up on our timelines, but we’re glad it still exists.
