The Undertaker and Kane have a storied history in WWE, forever linked as storyline brothers who have alternated between fierce rivals and formidable allies. Kane’s memorable debut came at WWE’s Bad Blood event in 1997, where he confronted The Undertaker in one of the most iconic moments in wrestling history.

Over the following decades, Kane and The Undertaker would clash in the ring amidst their rivalry and join forces on multiple occasions. Their rivalry included high-profile matches at events like WrestleMania, and they even held the WWE Tag Team Championships together, cementing their status as one of wrestling’s most legendary duos, named ‘The Brothers of Destruction.’

On the recent edition of his “Six Feet Under” podcast, The Undertaker revealed that if he were to start his own wrestling company, Kane would be his top pick in an all-time draft. He praised Kane’s talent, work ethic, and professionalism, emphasizing Kane’s understanding of his character and his willingness to do whatever was necessary for the business. The Undertaker highlighted Kane’s versatility, from being the “Big Red Machine” to evolving into “Corporate Kane,” as evidence of his range and deep understanding of the wrestling industry.

“People sometimes look at me funny about this, but if I were to start a wrestling company on my own and I had to pick my first guy, I would pick Kane. One, because of the talent. He can work with anybody. Two, he knows exactly what his gimmick is, he knows what his gimmick isn’t. Three, he’s going to do business. Four, he’s a human being that people wish their kids to be. You have all of those things with him. You have pretty much the total package. Somebody that was durable, worked hurt, and did everything that the company asked of him.”

The Undertaker also pointed out that Kane was a natural leader in the locker room, leading by example rather than through loud or aggressive behaviour. He described Kane as someone who could quietly guide others while maintaining an intimidating presence. According to The Undertaker, before selecting other wrestling icons like Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock, he would choose Kane as the cornerstone of his company, praising him as “the man” who consistently delivered, no matter the circumstances.

“Absolutely. He was a leader by example. He’s not going to be up in somebody’s face. He’s the kind of guy that is going to pull you aside and say, ‘Hey, maybe you want to do it this way or try this.’ He’s not going to be loud and boisterous. He’s going to be a gentleman about whatever he does. He’s also the quiet type to where he can rip your head off and take a healthy crap down your neck if he wanted to. He was strong. Physically strong. Before I pick a Stone Cold (Steve Austin) or The Rock, I want [Kane] as my pillar. He was the man. To be able to do with his character, and go to different places with that character. Had far more range than I ever did. He went all the way to Corporate Kane where he came completely out of the Big Red Machine suit, into a suit. Understands the product and what it takes to be successful given the opportunity.”

The last time The Undertaker and Kane teamed up was at WWE Crown Jewel in 2018, marking Kane’s final match outside of a Royal Rumble appearance. Their partnership and rivalry remain one of the most enduring and beloved storylines in WWE history for the years to come.
