Former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman worked with the company for several years and was involved in many memorable moments. It seems WWE took action against him for prioritizing his pregnant wife.
Jonathan Coachman debuted in WWE back in 1999 as an interviewer, commentator, and presenter and would then become an authority figure in 2003. He would then part ways with WWE in 2008 before returning in January 2018 as a Raw commentator. However, he was replaced in September of that year, and Coachman hasn’t been seen since then.
Before WWE Bash In Berlin 2024, Randy Orton told Michael Cole that he believes WWE is in a better place than ever. He noted that locker room morale has greatly improved, partly because WWE has allowed talent more time off to spend with their families.
Jonathan Coachman, who is particularly happy about this change, took to Twitter to share his own experience. He recalled being punished by WWE for not attending a Tribute to the Troops event in Afghanistan because he wanted to stay with his pregnant wife.
”Damn is Randy right. In my 10 years I missed ONE Monday night which was for my honeymoon. I was punished for not going to Afghanistan because my daughter was due and my wife didn’t want me to go. I also believe it’s the reason a lot of wrestlers are not here today because of the pressure to wrestle through injuries and do anything in their power to keep their positions. So glad that THAT part of the WWE has changed.”
Jonathan Coachman made it clear he will never go back to WWE after the poor treatment he received there. Regardless, Coachman is simply happy with how things are in WWE now and that’s all that matters.
