John Cena had been busy filming the second season of the DC series Peacemaker from June through November in the Atlanta area. This demanding shooting schedule was expected to wrap up around Thanksgiving, and his first look from the upcoming series has been unveiled.

Peacemaker, which stars Cena and is directed by James Gunn, gained significant popularity after its debut season, delving into the backstory of the character first introduced in The Suicide Squad. Cena’s portrayal of the morally complex Peacemaker was met with widespread acclaim, solidifying his character as a fan favourite within the DC Universe.

The success of the first season has set high expectations for the second, with fans eagerly awaiting its release. Given Cena’s schedule and commitment to this project, there had been speculations that he might have missed WrestleMania this year, but Big Match John managed to make his appearance at The Show of Shows.

The director of the series, James Gunn, recently took to his X to drop the first glimpse of John Cena’s look from season 2. The picture shows Cena wearing the Peacemaker outfit, which was clicked from behind, potentially on the set of the show.

“On this day, #Peacemaker aka Christopher Smith made his first comic appearance in Fightin’ 5 #40, in 1966, created by Joe Gill and Pat Boyette. It’s the role @JohnCena was born to play, and I can’t wait to show you all what we’re cooking up now for @Peacemaker Season 2!”

According to reports, Peacemaker season two is set to premiere in 2025, the same year that will see John Cena embark on his WWE retirement tour with a limited number of dates. So we will have to wait and see when it drops and if it is able to garner the same traction as its first season.

What are your thoughts on the glimpse dropped of John Cena’s look from Peacemaker season 2? Will the second season also be as successful as the first one? Sound off in the comments!
