The TNA Emergence event was truly a memorable show from start to finish, but it wasn’t without its fair share of worries. In fact, a TNA star was legitimately injured during the pay-per-view as well.
Alisha Edwards, one half of the current TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions, sustained a legitimate injury during her match at the Emergence event. Edwards was part of a six-woman tag team match, teaming up with Ash by Elegance and Masha Slamovich to face Jordynne Grace, Jody Threat, and Dani Luna.
During the match, Jody Threat performed a flip dive to the outside, taking down her opponents. Unfortunately, Edwards appeared to hit her head on the floor or the bottom of the entrance ramp during the spot.
According to PWInsider, several TNA officials quickly rushed to check on Edwards, who was then carried backstage and did not return to the match. It’s believed that she likely suffered a concussion and is receiving treatment.
TNA provided an update on Twitter, where Gia Miller confirmed that Edwards was rendered unconscious during the match and has been placed under concussion protocols. Additionally, Miller mentioned that TNA Digital Media Champion PCO also suffered a head injury in his match against Shera. Although he has been cleared to compete, PCO is also under concussion protocols as a precaution.
