WWE’s Bash in Berlin at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany, featured five matches, each with a compelling reason to be on the card. Among them, the mixed tag team match stood out, bringing an intense level of animosity to the forefront.
At SummerSlam 2024, Liv Morgan retained her Women’s World Championship by defeating Rhea Ripley, seemingly aided by “accidental interference” from Ripley’s on-screen love interest and Judgment Day stablemate, Dominik Mysterio. The WWE Universe was left stunned when Mysterio betrayed Ripley, ending their partnership with a shocking kiss to Morgan.
Later that night at Cleveland Browns Stadium, Damian Priest lost the World Heavyweight Championship to GUNTHER after a betrayal by fellow Judgment Day member Finn Bálor. On the August 5 episode of WWE RAW, Bálor officially ousted Priest and Ripley from Judgment Day, solidifying the group with himself, Mysterio, Morgan, JD McDonagh, and Carlito. During that same episode, Priest was ambushed by Bálor during his match against McDonagh, but Ripley came to his aid. The following week, a mixed tag team match between the newly formed Terror Twins and Judgment Day’s Mysterio and Morgan was announced for Bash in Berlin.
As expected, the crowd was eager to see Dominik Mysterio get his comeuppance, and the match delivered. It kicked off with Damian Priest taking on Dominik, quickly followed by Liv Morgan tagging in to face Rhea Ripley, who immediately dominated her. Early on, Dominik and Liv struggled to mount any significant offense.
Despite a brief advantage from Dominik, it didn’t take long for Priest to turn the tide with a Broken Arrow, gaining control. Ripley, meanwhile, took the opportunity to deliver a punishing clothesline to Dominik when he sought a hug, sending the Uber Arena into a frenzy with the crowd reaching a deafening 111 decibels.
Morgan eventually managed to get the upper hand on Ripley, leading to the men tagging back in. Priest wasted no time, taking the fight to Dominik. The crowd erupted as Rhea and Damian executed a double Razor’s Edge, electrifying the arena.
Judgment Day members attempted to interfere, but Ripley neutralized Carlito, while Priest dealt with McDonagh. However, Finn Bálor sneaked in a sling blade behind the referee’s back, allowing Dominik to hit a 6-1-9 for a near fall. Despite continued interference, Priest took out the remaining Judgment Day members, though he found himself laid out on the announce table after a blindsiding attack from Dominik. As Dominik celebrated, he ran straight into a clothesline, and inside the ring, Ripley closed in on Morgan.
In a sudden turn, Morgan fell victim to a devastating headbutt followed by a Riptide, sealing the victory for the Terror Twins. While the win didn’t reclaim their titles, it delivered the sweet taste of revenge in front of the Berlin crowd.
