ESPN’s Joe Tessitore is set to make his debut as a WWE commentator, as announced before. This change accompanies a broader shake-up in WWE’s commentary teams with his debut date being confirmed.
During the broadcast of WWE’s latest Premium Live Event, Bash in Berlin, taking place at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany, it was announced that Joe Tessitore’s debut would happen on September 2, the fall-out edition of Monday Night RAW for Bash in Berlin, that emanate from Ball Arena, Denver, CO.
Michael Cole, who has been a staple on RAW, will transition to Friday Night SmackDown as the play-by-play announcer, while Corey Graves, who had been handling play-by-play on SmackDown since February 2024, will return to his previous role as a color commentator alongside Cole.
Joe Tessitore will step into the role of play-by-play commentator on Monday Night RAW, with Wade Barrett joining him as the color commentator. This shift is part of WWE’s ongoing efforts to revitalize its commentary teams across its flagship shows.
Further changes are anticipated at the start of the new year when Raw moves to Netflix. At that point, Michael Cole is expected to return to RAW and will be paired with Pat McAfee, marking another significant adjustment in WWE’s broadcast strategy.
While Joe Tessitore’s role at that point is unknown, for now, the fans await his arrival for a breath of fresh air on the commentary desk this upcoming Monday Night.
