Cody Rhodes remains one of the biggest stars in WWE right now and he has a lot of responsibilities as the Undisputed WWE Champion. With that said, some fans were concerned after what transpired on SmackDown this week and Rhodes’ health status ahead of Bash in Berlin has been revealed.
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will go from allies to adversaries as they compete for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Bash in Berlin. The two crossed paths during the August 30th episode of SmackDown in Berlin. During the confrontation, Owens claimed that Cody had suffered a knee injury earlier this week while in Europe.
Owens pointed out that Cody didn’t drop to one knee during his entrance, implying he was concealing an injury. However, Cody, 39, denied these claims, insisting his knee was perfectly fine. Throughout the Road to Bash in Berlin live event tour, which included stops in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, Cody successfully defended his title against AJ Styles on all five nights. The WWE Universe quickly grew concerned about Rhodes’ health following Owens’ injury claim.
Fightful Select confirmed that the Rhodes vs. Owens match is still on. Backstage sources at SmackDown indicated that Cody would be “fine” for his title defense against Owens on Saturday. While it’s unclear if there’s any truth to Owens’ injury mention, there have been no reports of Rhodes being hurt during his matches with Styles earlier in the week.
Regardless, we will have to wait and see how The American Nightmare will fare against The Prizefighter at the Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event on August 31st, as there is a lot of hype for their match.
