The allegations brought forward by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon have severely damaged his reputation as a business magnate. Claims of sex trafficking and sexual abuse have overshadowed McMahon’s legacy as a central figure in the entertainment world.
Janel Grant accused Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis of serious misconduct, including sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking, with allegations dating back to March 2019 and a lot of things have come to light after the lawsuit was made in January this year.
While speaking during the post-Bash in Berlin media scrum, Cody Rhodes was asked if he knew about the Janel Grant lawsuit and whether the locker room knew it properly, as he was asked why the WWE locker room has remained so silent about the lawsuit.
Cody Rhodes explained that it’s not about belief or non-belief. The focus for the wrestlers is on delivering great performances for the fans, with the attention it takes to tell compelling stories and have strong matches night after night. As a result, most of them are finding out information about the lawsuit at the same time as everyone else, including how the situation will be resolved. Rhodes emphasized that the silence isn’t an intentional effort, but rather a reflection of their commitment to their day-to-day responsibilities in WWE.
”In terms of the locker room being quiet or silent it may be, I don’t think that’s a matter of belief vs non-belief, I think it’s strictly speaking, we want to be doing what we were doing out there and the focus and attention it takes for 13,149 people to have a great story and match and do that every single night has left most of us where we’re finding the information out just as you are. And that includes the resolution of this information in terms of what happened, how it happened and how justice comes about, whatever it may be. I would look at it as an active attempt to the locker room to be silent in the sense, we just are doing what we do day to day WWE business.
I don’t know enough about the information to give you a good enough answer there. I’m sorry.”
The lawsuit is currently on hold pending federal investigation. Regardless, we’ll have to see what will become of Vince McMahon in the end, as things simply do not look good for him.
