Many fans feel AEW and WWE are still part of a war and they are legitimately competing against each other. With that said, it appears AEW Collision next week will be going head-to-head with SmackDown on September 6th as well.
Next week’s edition of AEW Collision in Chicago will air a day earlier on Friday, directly competing with WWE SmackDown. This schedule adjustment is due to All Out airing live on pay-per-view the following day. The AEW event, Collision, will be part of a three-hour block, with AEW Rampage airing immediately afterwards.
Next week’s SmackDown will be the final episode to air on Fox before the show moves back to the USA Network on September 13. Announced for the episode is the return of Giovanni Vinci and a tag team match featuring Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu of The Bloodline against Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Angelo Dawkins, and Montez Ford.
Next Friday’s WWE SmackDown will be held at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, while AEW’s Collision will take place at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. This won’t be the only time AEW and WWE will go head-to-head this year, so we’ll have to see how AEW Collision will fare against SmackDown next week.
