Not every child of a legendary pro wrestler immediately steps into the wrestling ring. Some, like Roman Reigns and The Rock, first pursue careers in football before eventually transitioning to pro wrestling. Goldberg clearly sees great potential in his son, Gage Goldberg, and is focused on ensuring he’s prepared for the upcoming college football season.

Gage Goldberg, the son of WWE legend Bill Goldberg, has officially joined the University of Colorado football team for the 2024 season for Deion Sanders. As a linebacker, Gage signed his national letter of intent on National Signing Day to play under Coach Prime with the Buffaloes.

During a recent practice, Goldberg was there to support his son, standing behind the net on the sidelines, closely observing. When Gage approached his WWE Hall of Famer father, he was met with some inspirational and NSFW words of encouragement.

“Have fun, but get your ass locked in. I’m telling you, get f*cking locked in. I love you, I’ll be on the sideline, go get f*cking locked in, help your boys out, go get f*cking ready, okay? Hey, this ain’t gonna be a walkover today, by any means, so get their ass ready. That’s your f*cking job.”

Goldberg’s words highlight his desire for his son to be fully prepared. With extensive experience in both wrestling and football, Goldberg knows what it takes to get ready for the challenges ahead.

Back in 1990, Goldberg was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the 11th round of the NFL draft, 301st overall, although he never played a game for them. He eventually made his NFL debut on December 3, 1992, for the Atlanta Falcons, wearing #71, and played with them until 1994. Though Goldberg eventually left football for pro wrestling, his passion for the game remains strong.

It will be interesting to see if Gage Goldberg follows in his father’s sizable footsteps. One thing is certain: his father is fully supportive of his journey in college football. You can check out the video below.
