CM Punk has fans and critics all over the pro wrestling world. It’s impossible to make everyone happy, but right now Punk seems to be doing his best to stay in a good mood while positioned on top of WWE in a booming period in company history.

During Jack Perry and Darby Allin’s match at AEW All In 2024, the Wembley Stadium crowd chanted, “F*ck CM Punk,” and that garnered a bit of attention. It appears that those fans are not the only people who have that mindset.

Gabe Kidd and Drew McIntyre share something with that Wembley Stadium crowd. They would both happily declare, “F*ck CM Punk.” We all know about McIntyre and Punk’s big rivalry, but Gabe Kidd’s name is new to the narrative.

Gabe Kidd has been making waves in NJPW, especially with his recent breakout run that saw him defeat Eddie Kingston to capture the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship at NJPW Resurgence. Throughout his rise, Kidd has not shied away from taking shots at stars in both AEW and WWE.

In a candid interview on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez, Gabe Kidd didn’t hold back when sharing his thoughts on American wrestling. He’s taken shots at the period in NJPW’s own history where they had Americans as champions, and he simply doesn’t care.

“I don’t give a sh*t. I couldn’t give less of a sh*t, to be honest. I wrestle in Japan. My business is in Japan. Why would I waste time thinking about what they’re doing? I call their guys out for fun. I get drunk, hop on Twitter, I call their guys out for fun. They’re at the back of my mind. I don’t give a f*ck about them. What I will say is that if they ever come to Japan, I will demolish and embarrass every single one of them. I don’t care who it is. I don’t care, tag team, singles, anything. MJF, Danny Garcia, Ospreay, any of those little rats. FTR, you want to hop on a tag, let’s do it. I’m here, active, and so is Jake Lee. So are all the [Bullet Club War] Dogs. We’re running pro wrestling right now. So stay in your own lane. Stick to doing your little in-ring promos on TV. Twats.”

Later in the interview, Kidd participated in a name game where he was asked to give brief comments on various wrestlers. When Hernandez mentioned CM Punk, Kidd simply responded, “F*ck CM Punk,” he replied while laughing.

We will have to see if Gabe Kidd ever steps in the ring with CM Punk. As a champion in NJPW, he may be too preoccupied shooting his shot with Mercedes Mone. Until then, we will keep our eyes peeled for more updates.

Gabe Kidd will keep getting heat however he can. Obviously, he’s not shying away from expressing his opinion at this point in time.

What’s your take on Gabe Kidd’s assessment of American pro wrestling? Who do you think would win in a match between Kidd and CM Punk? Do you think Gabe Kidd is playing the long game for a WWE contract? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
