Dancing With The Stars fame, Artem Chigvintsev, who is married to former WWE star Nikki Bella, now known as Nikki Garcia, was recently arrested on domestic battery charges, with a former colleague being shocked on hearing about his actions.
The incident unfolded early in the morning when Chigvintsev made a 911 call around 8:30 AM, initially citing a “medical emergency.” However, a follow-up call was made shortly afterwards to cancel the request for emergency services, with the dispatcher’s audio clip to the authorities also surfacing online.
That possibly prompted Napa County Sheriff’s Office deputies to respond around 10 AM and check out the situation. Upon their arrival, officers observed visible injuries on the alleged victim, leading to Chigvintsev’s arrest on felony charges of harming a spouse or cohabitant. He was subsequently booked into Napa County Jail with bail set at $25,000 and has since been released.
Cheryl Burke, who was a Pro on Dancing with the Stars, recently shared her reaction to the news of her former colleague, Artem Chigvintsev’s arrest, on her podcast, “Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans.” Burke expressed her shock and disbelief over the situation. She mentioned that she and Artem grew up together in the dance world and even lived together in her family home at one point, making the news especially difficult for her to process. Burke noted that the allegations don’t align with the Artem she knows.
Despite her shock, Cheryl extended her well-wishes to Artem’s wife, Nikki Bella, and their son, Matteo, hoping that they were all safe and well. Burke, who appeared on “DWTS” for over two dozen seasons, shared many seasons with Chigvintsev before retiring from dancing.
As far as Nikki Garcia is concerned, her representative has requested privacy at this time on her behalf. So we will have to wait and see what unfolds next and if Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev would be able to reconcile following the incident.
