Since its opening in 2013, the WWE Performance Center has been a cornerstone of WWE’s developmental system, shaping the future stars of the wrestling world. Now, NXT head Shawn Michaels has shared his ambitious vision for the center, one that could redefine the future of WWE’s main roster.

In a video released by WWE’s parent company, TKO, Michaels expressed his goal for the Performance Center to become the exclusive breeding ground for WWE talent.

“In a very short amount of time, 100% of the WWE roster is going to be from people who have walked through the doors of the Performance Center,” Michaels stated.

Currently, WWE’s main roster features a mix of talent—some honed within the Performance Center and others who made their names in the wrestling world before signing with WWE. Even those established outside WWE often spend time at the Performance Center as part of their transition through NXT before being called up to the main roster.

Despite recent rumors suggesting a potential move of the Performance Center to Las Vegas, fans can rest assured that the facility will remain in its longtime home of Orlando, Florida. Reports had circulated that the center would be relocating after eleven years in Florida, sparked by comments from Endeavor President Mark Shapiro. However, WWE quickly denied these claims, clarifying in a statement to Fightful Select that Shapiro was referring to the possibility of “having a presence” in Vegas, which remains “on the table,” rather than an outright move.

As the WWE Performance Center continues to evolve, Shawn Michaels’ vision for its future underscores the growing importance of this facility in developing the stars of tomorrow. With his leadership and the resources of the Performance Center, WWE is poised to see its main roster increasingly filled with homegrown talent who have risen through the ranks of NXT.

With Shawn Michaels’ ambitious vision for the WWE Performance Center to exclusively produce future main roster talent, how do you think this will impact the diversity and variety of wrestling styles on WWE programming? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
