You never know what can happen in pro wrestling, especially as many companies are seemingly open to working together. Through it all, WWE has confirmed that they have no intention of working with AEW. That won’t stop two of their most beloved stars from interacting on social media.

The official Street Fighter Twitter account tweeted out to say, “This will be a collection to remember! Capcom Fighting Collection 2 includes 8 games like Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Project Justice, and more. Get your Groove on in 2025 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam!” That captured a lot of interest, including from Xavier Woods

The New Day member posted a photo in reply to Street Fighter’s tweet, one that included a photo of himself surrounded by video game holy grails, many of them retro and in the fighting game genre. He’s very ready for this, as he responded with: “Yall think I’m joking. YOU DON’T WANT IT WITH ME!”

Kenny Omega saw this tweet from Xavier Woods, and he responded with an animated gif of an unimpressed child with a caption that said, “Bruh.” This garnered a response from Woods as well, one that included a challenge.

“Kenneth! Even though the rest of you is broken, at least your hands still work. So feel free to come get ran through when this collection drops”

Kenny Omega has been out of action for quite some time with diverticulitis. In late 2023, Omega’s tag team match with Chris Jericho for the AEW World Tag Team Championships was derailed by Omega’s battle with diverticulitis, a severe condition that required urgent surgery, forcing a delay in their plans. Omega has since undergone surgery and appears to be making steady progress in his recovery.

On the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Omega made his first television appearance since December to update fans on his recovery from diverticulitis. However, his return was cut short when he was ambushed by The Elite, comprising The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada, leading to Omega being written off television.

Since then, Omega has continued his recovery post-surgery, with fans eagerly awaiting news of his return to in-ring action. A few weeks ago, Michael Nakazawa provided an update on Omega’s health during a recent interview. Nakazawa revealed that Omega is suffering from “diverticulitis of the large intestine,” a serious condition that could be fatal if not treated properly, sparking concern among fans.

We will have to see how long Kenny Omega takes to make it back to the ring. His battle with diverticulitis is not to be taken lightly. Obviously, he has a ton of fans who can’t wait to see him get busy again. In the meantime, perhaps he will take Xavier Woods up on his video game challenge.
