The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson have faced criticism over their personalities and the image they project. They are also on a part-time deal with AEW and get paid handsomely and due to this, Tony Khan has been called out for mismanaging finances.

Recently, it was reported that The Young Bucks rarely appear on television and haven’t defended their titles due to having limited dates. It was further added that they actually work under part-time schedule in AEW.

On a recent episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, Mantell’s co-host talked about the current arrangement for the EVPs within the company. It was reported that their contracts were based on appearances, meaning they would only come in when needed. This setup allowed them to earn over a million dollars each, despite competing in only 18 matches this year. Dutch Mantell reacted to this by blaming Tony Khan for this arrangement, questioning why he would pay them that much money for limited dates.

“Well, The Young Bucks might think they’re getting paid properly because you want as much money as you can get, I don’t blame them. The blame here lies with Tony Khan. He signed the deal, it’s his money, he’s paying them. Would you pay them that much money for limited dates?

The veteran said that Tony Khan should focus on making more money instead of mismanaging finances. He mentioned that anyone offered a deal like the one the EVPs have would likely take it.

Mantell made it clear that he doesn’t blame the Young Bucks for accepting the deal but thinks Tony Khan is at fault for not managing the money properly. He criticized Khan for concentrating on getting a TV deal while wasting money and stressed that better money management is needed.

“I say fine. If they can do it. If somebody’s willing to offer you the money, it’s not even a ‘Hmm… should I take it?’ No, they’re gonna take it. I don’t blame them (Young Bucks). The only one to blame here is Tony Khan. So he’s trying to get that TV deal and worrying about that but he just throws good money after bad. I want him to stay in business, I want these guys have a place to go, I want them to make good money, of course, I do. But, the money management is mismanaged.

The Young Bucks also retained their AEW World Titles at All In. Regardless, many fans feel Tony Khan should be more smart with his money and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
