Efforts to Bring WWE Premium Live Event to Ireland Gain Momentum

WWE is certainly the powerhouse in global professional wrestling and has been making notable efforts to expand into new markets recently. In light of this endeavor, a push has been made for a Premium Live Event to take place in Ireland.

In recent years, WWE has made a strong effort to host Premium Live Events outside the United States. Events like Backlash, Elimination Chamber, and Clash at the Castle are prime examples. However, despite these international expansions, Ireland has yet to host a Premium Live Event.

While speaking in an interview on Muscle Man Malcolm, Lyra Valkyria shared her wish to bring a WWE event to Ireland. She talked about how an NXT TakeOver in Dublin was canceled because of the pandemic, and she hopes to bring a big event to Ireland someday.

Lyra pointed out how excited European fans are at events like Backlash in France and Bash in Berlin. She mentioned that her favorite event is Money in the Bank, but any event in Ireland would be special, and she would love to help make it happen.

“My favorite PLE is Money in the Bank, but any PLE in Ireland would be incredible. Especially because we came so close with an NXT TakeOver: Dublin during the Pandemic, and that never happened. I would absolutely love it. I would love to be the one to bring it to Ireland. We’ve got such an incredible fan base over there, and whenever WWE goes overseas, like Backlash in France or Bash in Berlin, you can tell the European crowd really, really wants it, and they’re so passionate. To be able to have it in Ireland would be incredible.”

Ireland isn’t the only country that has been getting pushed when it comes to getting a Premium Live Event, as Cody Rhodes recently named Belgium as a potential destination as well. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see if fans in Ireland will finally get their wish for a Premium Live Event to take place there.
