Dominik Mysterio Explains Why He Ended His Relationship with Rhea Ripley

Dominik Mysterio shocked the entire wrestling world when he ended his long-term alliance with his beloved Mami, Rhea Ripley and chose to side with her heated rival, Liv Morgan, at WWE SummerSlam 2024.

Liv Morgan had been pursuing Dominik Mysterio for months as part of her ‘Liv Morgan Revenge Tour’, which included snatching everything from Rhea Ripley that she loved. After she captured the WWE Women’s World Championship, her next target was Dirty Dom, who, after months of resistance, finally chose her side over Rhea.

During a recent interview with Peter Rosenberg on the Cheap Heat podcast, Dominik Mysterio opened up about his decision to end things with Rhea Ripley. The Dirty One stated that despite Ripley forcing the relationship on him initially, Dominik felt that it could work well for both as it blossomed.

However, when Dominik Mysterio lost the NXT North American Championship, he expected Rhea Ripley to be supportive. Instead, Ripley treated him badly and gave him the ultimatum to either win back the title or not come back to her, which Dominik believed that her current girlfriend, Liv Morgan, would never do.

“How did she start her relationship with me? She choked me out, she beat me up and dragged me on her shoulder, like my face was all busted up. So, I was like, all right, you know, I’ll join. And then the relationship blossomed out of nowhere. I was like, ‘okay, this could actually work out.’ But then, certain things happened here and there. When I lost my NXT North American Title for the first time, what did she do? Instead of being supportive Mami and being like, ‘hey, everything’s gonna be okay,’ she got in my face and said, ‘you better come home with that title or don’t come home at all. [You don’t think Liv would ever do that?] No, of course not.”

Dominik Mysterio also opened up about how his relationship with Liv Morgan was much superior to the one he had with Rhea Ripley. Currently, he seems to be very happy with the woman who affectionately refers to him as his “Daddy Dom.”

The duo are set to collide in a mixed tag team match against Rhea Ripley and her terror twin, Damian Priest, at WWE Bash in Berlin, setting up the next chapter in the ongoing feud between the terror twins and the new Judgment Day.
